Rotterdam is my inspiration. I paint water, ships, masts, bridges, cranes and picturesque old harbours but also the container terminals and proud contours of Rotterdam's modern architecture.

As a child I used to live on the banks of the river Maas. The coming and going of ships, the sounds and smells of the port and all the hustle and bustle have instilled a life-long fascination in me. The port has been banned from the town, but with my paintings I hope to bring it back.
